The First Few Steps
The first thing an employer must do when an employee gets injured and hospitalized is to pay for their medical leave wages and medical expenses. For permanent incapacity, there will be additional steps. If the accident is fatal, you’ll have to notify the Ministry of Manpower or MOM right away. After that, make sure to submit an accident report within ten days from the day of the accident. If it’s non-fatal, you can submit an incident report within ten days. It will eventually notify MOM about the accident, and you can proceed to the next steps.
